Your Value and Purpose in Life?

Everything in your life has a certain value to it. Some things you place a very large value to and then others you may not place much value on it at all. You may not think much about the value you place on things but you should start to. The values you place on things can affect your purpose and success in life in many ways.

First of all, whatever you value the most are the things that you protect and look after the most. Think about someone that you love. You value that person very much and will do just about anything to protect that person as well as maintain a healthy relationship with them.

On the other hand, think about a pencil. You probably are thinking, ‘Ok, why a pencil?’ Well that’s exactly my point. You don’t really value a pencil so it doesn’t affect you in any way. I can probably safely say that you don’t really care what happens to a pencil.

Likewise, your purpose in life will be affected by the values that you place on it as well as the values you place on other things in your life. As an example let’s say you have a purpose to be a great parent but don’t place any value on authority. Because of the value that you place on authority, or the lack thereof, your children will be affected by this and not respect authority as well.

Fast forward 5, 10, or 20 years and your children are in prison because of their lack of value on authority that they learned from you. Your purpose in life to be a good parent was negatively affected because of the value that you place on authority. You values will greatly determine your success and how well you achieve your purpose.
