10 Benefits of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Italian olive oil, both oil and an oil bottle ...Image via Wikipedia

1. It's Natural! - the best of olive oil benefits. Extra virgin olive oil is nothing but fruit juice extracted mechanically from olive fruit. There is no heat or chemicals used in the extraction process. My favourite and the most beneficial is a fresh organic unfiltered extra virgin olive oil.

2. Flavour - It just tastes good. I guess I would have to say it is an acquired taste and some people just don't like the bitter characteristic of some oils. There are olive varieties known for their mild flavour and olive oil pressed from ripe olives is smooth, mellow and buttery.
substitute olive oil for butter

3. Nutritional Value - vitamins E, K, and A as well as polyphenols, squalene, oleocanthol, triterpenes and hundreds more micronutrients make olive oil a healthy choice. Read more about olive oil nutrients.

4. Oleic Acid
- oleic acid (omega 9) makes up 55 - 85 percent of the fatty acids in olive oil. Don't confuse this with the amount of free oleic acid which is the main factor used to determine the grade of the olive oil and the lower the better. It's great for your skin - read about common oils used in soaps and how they can do so much more than just clean your skin at romancing-the-soap.com Oleic acid aids in keeping our arteries supple and helps prevent cancer.

5. Hydrogenated Oils - olive oil is not hydrogenated oil. Hydrogenation creates dangerous trans-fats found in margarine and many other packaged foods.

6. Heart Health and Cholesterol
- extra virgin olive oil is high in polyphenols (a powerful antioxidant) and monounsaturated fat which contributes to lowering bad cholesterol. Read more about this health benefit here.

7. Cancer - researchers at the University of Oxford believe that olive oil may be just as effective in the prevention of colon cancer as fresh fruits and veggies. A diet rich in olive oil has been shown to reduce the incidence of colon., breast and skin cancers.

8. Blood Pressure - Studies now indicate that extra virgin olive oil may help to lower blood pressure. Patients were able to reduce or eliminate the need for medications when olive oil was consumed on a regular basis.

9. Alzheimers - this disease is associated with the clogging of arteries caused by cholesterol and saturated fat. Replacing other fats with olive oil will reduce the risk.

10. Gallstones - Olive oil promotes the secretion of bile and pancreatic hormones naturally and lowers the incidence of gallstones.

There are more olive oil benefits. It's great for skin and hair care, used in natural remedies, and is a more versatile cooking oil than you may think.

Ideas Worth Spreading to the world

When you have ideas worth sharing and will benefit others. You will feel you have the fiery passion and desire to want to share with the world.

However people have the mentally free information are useless information, therefore they paid thousands of $$$ dollars to attain seminar to feed themselves with "so call valuable information"

Believe it or not, free information does not necessary be junk information, you got to do your own filtering of the information you gather. I will say the best example is the internet, you can literally find anything you want in the internet using search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN ETC free of charge and all you need is to be proficient with search engine "Keywords"

I have a recently stumble upon a very informative site call TED . In it you will find people sharing the latest information on science, technology, business etc, and mind you the people sharing these information are subject matter experts and not any TOM DICK or BOB. The best of all, the information there are free.

I have grew to glue myself to this site as there are so many things I can learn there, and this will be my Free Online Learning Seminar.
so log on to TED.COM to learn something new. Enjoy and have fun

Household Rules to Observe

Description unavailableImage by :teointarifa: via Flickr

I was visiting my friend's place this evening and I come across a sign put up by my friend. The sign is so interesting that it got me stuck reading for a couple of minutes.

It goes this well

Rules of This Establishment
If you open it. CLOSE IT!

If you turn it on, TURN IT OFF!

If you unlock it, LOCK IT!

If you break it, REPAIR IT!

If you can't fix it, CALL SOMEONE WHO CAN!

If you borrow it. RETURN IT!

If you use it, TAKE CARE OF IT!

If you move it, PUT IT BACK!

If it belongs to someone else, GET PERMISSION TO USE IT!

If you don't know how to operate it, LEAVE IT ALONE!

If it doesn't concern you, LEAVE IT ALONE!

These are simple rules, but it really makes sense. Maybe you should implement it to your establishment to protect your assets.

Save the Sharks

Shark fin soupImage via Wikipedia

I have read from a review that if sharks are wiped off the face of earth, there will be a massive growth of small fishes that will eat away the plankton.

Plankton is precious and important as it takes in carbon dioxide and gives the world most of it's oxygen.

Apparently sharks are responsible for 5 human deaths each year. However drugs and road accidents cause more than 100,000 human deaths.

Our oceans are depleting at an alarming state. We need to create awareness of the facts that sharks are an important community in our oceans. Lets stop the cruelty of the shark's fins industry by not consuming shark's fin. Do your part to Save the Sharks

10 Tips for Working Successfully in a Group

Randy PauschImage via WikipediaThe Late Professor Randy Pausch the author of the book "The Last Lecture" wrote about the keys to working successfully in a group

Meet people properly.

It all starts with the introduction. Then, exchange contact information, and make sure you know how to pronounce everyone’s names. Exchange phone #s, [email addresses] and find out what hours are acceptable to call during.

Find things you have in common.

You can almost always find something in common with another person, and starting from that baseline, it’s much easier to then address issues where you have differences. This is why cities like professional sports teams, which are socially galvanizing forces that cut across boundaries of race and wealth. If nothing else, you probably have in common things like the weather.

Make meeting conditions good.

Have a large surface to write on, make sure the room is quiet and warm enough, and that there aren’t lots of distractions. Make sure no one is hungry, cold, or tired. Meet over a meal if you can; food softens a meeting. That’s why they "do lunch" in Hollywood.

Let everyone talk.

Even if you think what they’re saying is stupid. Cutting someone off is rude, and not worth whatever small time gain you might make. Don’t finish someone’s sentences for him or her; they can do it for themselves. And remember: talking louder or faster doesn’t make your idea any better.

Check your egos at the door.

When you discuss ideas, immediately label them and write them down. The labels should be descriptive of the idea, not the originator: "the troll bridge story," not "Jane’s story."

Praise each other.

Find something nice to say, even if it’s a stretch. Even the worst of ideas has a silver lining inside it, if you just look hard enough. Focus on the good, praise it, and then raise any objections or concerns you have about the rest of it.

Put it in writing.

Always write down who is responsible for what, by when. Be concrete. Arrange meetings by email, and establish accountability. Never assume that someone’s roommate will deliver a phone message. Also, remember that "politics is when you have more than 2 people" – with that in mind, always CC (carbon copy) any piece of email within the group, or to me, to all members of the group. This rule should never be violated; don’t try to guess what your group mates might or might not want to hear about.

Be open and honest.

Talk with your group members if there’s a problem, and talk with me if you think you need help. The whole point of this course is that it’s tough to work across cultures. If we all go into it knowing that’s an issue, we should be comfortable discussing problems when they arise -- after all, that’s what this course is really about. Be forgiving when people make mistakes, but don’t be afraid to raise the issues when they come up,

Avoid conflict at all costs.

When stress occurs and tempers flare, take a short break. Clear your heads, apologize, and take another stab at it. Apologize for upsetting your peers, even if you think someone else was primarily at fault; the goal is to work together, not start a legal battle over whose transgressions were worse. It takes two to have an argument, so be the peacemaker.

Phrase alternatives as questions.

Instead of "I think we should do A, not B," try "What if we did A, instead of B?" That allows people to offer comments, rather than defend one choice.

How Persuasive are you ?

intimacy? or business trust?Image by Esthr via FlickrLet's do a simple test to access our level of persuasiveness, by knowing where we stand, we will know what we should do to to hone the skills that heighten our power of persuasion and, in turn, our charisma.

For each pair of statements below, distribute three points between the two alternatives (A and B), depending on how characteristic of you the statement is. Although both statements in a pair may seem to apply to you, assign more points to the alternative that is more representative of your behavior most of the time.

• If A is very characteristic of you and B is very un- characteristic, write “3” next to A and “0” next to B.

• If A is more characteristic of you than B, write “2” next to A and “1” next to B.

• If B is very characteristic of you and A is very un characteristic, write “3” next to B and “0” next to A.
... and so on.

1A___I work extra hard when necessary because I want to accomplish my goals and because I enjoy the feeling of success.
1B___I work extra hard when necessary because it’s expected
of me and I need to set an example.

2A___I get excited trying to persuade others to see my way of thinking.
2B___I believe in “live and let live” and, thus don’t often try hard to get others to come around to my way of
thinking.

3A___I use a lot of metaphors, analogies, and anecdotes when I am trying to convince somebody of something.
3B___I think people are persuaded by facts, not by my charm as a storyteller, so I tend to stick to logic and data when I’m trying to convince somebody.

4A___I have a well-defined set of goals for the short, intermediate, and long terms.
4B___I have a good, general sense of what I want to accomplish but I rarely express it to myself or others in concrete terms.

5A___I give compliments freely and sincerely.
5B___I’m a little wary of giving too many compliments because it may cheapen their worth or people will think I’m flattering them for my own personal gain.

6A___People often pause thoughtfully when we’re speaking and say to me, “That’s a very good question.”
6B___People rarely comment on my questions.

7A___I often repeat back to another person the gist of what they’ve just said so that I’m sure I understand the meaning.
7B___Repeating back what’s just been said seems unnecessary and time-consuming.

8A___I make it a point to remember others’ names and use them in conversation.
8B___I can remember jokes, songs, recipes, and all manner of other minutiae, but I have trouble with names.

9A___When there are multiple, acceptable courses of action,I usually try to see which one most people are comfortable with.
9B___When there are multiple, acceptable courses of action, I try to lead the group toward what I think is the best plan.

10A___When I’m in charge, I put a lot of effort into explaining to others the “why” of what we are doing.
10B___When I’m in charge, I put my priority on getting the job done and, if time permits, explaining the “why” later.

Scoring:
Please add point totals under “A” and enter here: _________
Please add point totals under “B” and enter here: _________

Now let’s take a look at how you scored on this segment. If your “A” score is significantly greater than your “B” score (and if you were truly honest!), your persuasion skills are fairly strong. The more lopsided your “A” score, the stronger
you are as a persuader. If your “A” score exceeds your “B” by, say, a 2-to-1 margin, your persuasiveness “glass” is far fuller than most.

Conversely, if your “B” score approximates your “A” score, you may have identified an improvement opportunity. And if your “B” score is higher than your “A,” that’s an indication that you need lots of work in this area.

The Power of Self-Discipline

w:Collage of varius w:Gray's muscle pictures b...Image via WikipediaSelf-discipline is like a muscle. Every exercise of self-discipline, in any area, strengthens all your other disciplines. In Dorothea Brande’s book Wake Up and Live, she spends an entire chapter explaining how to develop your “discipline muscles.”

From getting up in the morning and making your bed immediately, through to planning and preparing each day, being punctual, keeping your word, completing your assignments on time, and following through on your commitments to yourself and others. She explains how you can train yourself to become a highly disciplined person. “Success is tons of discipline.”

The bad news is that every weakness in discipline, in any area, weakens all your other disciplines as well. They are not separable. The best part of the practice of self-discipline is that, each time you discipline yourself to do something that you know you should do, your self-esteem goes up. You like yourself more. Your self-image improves. You respect yourself more, and are more respected by others. Every act of self-discipline makes you a more confident, happier person. When you practice self-discipline regularly, in small and large matters, you feel good about yourself.

7 Key Strategies to Balance Work and Personal Life

Marine Institute Ireland, Strategic_Planning_S...Image via WikipediaLee Iacocca, former chairman of Chrysler Corporation, said that most of the 242 million working people, “swing out of bed, yawn, and figure: ‘Oh hell, I’ve got to make it through another day of drudgery’.” Working people are stressed out. Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, said that about 75% of workers don’t like what they are doing or who they work for.

A major explanation for stress has been uncertainty in the workplace as a result of increased competition, changing local and international trade regulations, merging of corporations and technological advances. These changes have been experienced nationally and locally.

Is change new to humanity? Are there better ways for an individual to thrive in a world of uncertainty? How can one balance the demands of personal life and work?

7 Keys strategies to Balance Work and Personal Life

1.Individuals established their purpose on earth from a perspective that was independent from one’s daily activities. In today’s chaotic workplace, each one should ask himself/herself: what is their primary purpose or mission in life? What is there to look back to and be glad?

2.With the purpose established, an individual committed his vision, decisions and actions on activities that helped him achieve his purpose. He aligned individual goals with those of the group he belonged to. In what ways can your employment help you attain that purpose? How are your life goals aligning with the vision and mission of the organization you are working for?

3.Self empowerment allowed individuals to take risks and venture into unsettled lands with confidence. Working people have to develop self-empowering strategies that allow them to use their creative and authentic potential to achieve their purposes while they create an environment for their employer’s success.

4.Natural and man made-changes were viewed as natural processes that perpetuated personal and community growth and new ways of survival. One has to view change in the workplace with an attitude toward new opportunities, including skills, knowledge and abilities, thus improving one’s employability.

5.Individuals and the community had rituals that helped people bounce back after going through a devastating experience. Adherence to faith, reflection on what had happened, staying in contact with others and physical activities were springboards for the soul, body and mind as one forged ahead with his journey of accomplishing his mission. These are aspects that can be used by all of us to refocus on our purpose during and after change.

6.Flexibility was a major survival strategy. People relocated or alternated livelihood from crop cultivators to livestock keepers to gatherers to hunters, based on prevailing conditions. The ability to let go of perceptions and practices that may not be beneficial to oneself or an organization is a stress-reduction step. “Utility players” (those who play different positions of a game) are always searched for. It has been said that, “Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.”

7.Involvement in community affairs provided opportunities to learn, socialize, help others and strengthen a sense of belonging and contribution. Getting involved in one’s community is not only a networking strategy, but also an opportunity to help others, which is one of the secrets of success.

When work and personal life are balanced, good health, increased productivity, and fulfillment are realized.

16 Points towards a Cancer Free Life

Shadows Of The PastImage by Garry' via FlickrAFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (TRY THE KEY WORD) AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional! deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer ! cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
a. Sugar, is a cancer-feeder.

By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt. ( THE WEST MADE US 2 CHANGE FROM SEA 2 WHITE IODIZED SALT )

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus .

By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment.

A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best t o eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment.
About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed
and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for
building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day.. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.

Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water- best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Florescence,Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells.
Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor.

Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16.
Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

I sincerely hope all these facts will help you live a Happy, Healthy and Wealthy Life

123 Tips to Overcoming Procrastination

Neil Fiore – The Now HabitImage by cygri via Flickr Do it now!!! Do it now!!

Did you read this immediately or leave it until another day?

We all suffer from procrastination at some point in our life.

Someone once told me "Procrastination is the mother of idleness" and I believe this is the true meaning of Procrastination.

Problems and solutions to Procrastination

Problem:

People procrastinate because many are paralysed with fear of failure, loss, pain and some, success! What we fear becomes our reality.

Solution:

1. Fear is <False Evidence Appearing Real>.

2. 90% of what we fear never becomes reality.

3. The best way to overcome fear is to do what we fear.

4. It helps if you visualise the worst-case scenario and accept it as a possibility and realise it will probably never come to pass.

5. Our imaginations exaggerate negative fears completely out of proportion and in most cases never occur!

Problem:

Few have a strategy to accomplish their goals.

Solution:

1. Make a contract with yourself.

2. Identify specific rewards for positive action.

3. Establish certain penalties for procrastination.

4. Break your goals down into small steps.

5. Schedule a time segment for apiece activity.

6. Give yourself rewards for correct action and penalties when you do not follow through.

Problem:

Many have a demand of discipline. It takes 30 days to break old habits and establish new ones.

Solution:

1. Create a Success-Habits-Reminder card to record your regular activities.

2. Tape it to your bathroom mirror.

3. Stick it on your desk to keep track of your actions.

Problem:

Most people do not have a plan or assign priorities.

Solution:

1. Create a To Do List.

2. Determine immediate, intermediate and long-range goals.

3. Plan the goals that are in immediate reach of your abilities and assign priorities: Important & urgent, Important but not urgent, Not urgent or important.

4. Do the urgent & important tasks first.

5. 80% of your activities are not important to your goals.

6. Only 20% are urgent & important.

7. Learn to eliminate the 80% activities that do not help you attain your goals.

Problem:

Many try to complete the most urgent & important activities at the last moment.

Solution:

Every day schedule a block of prime time to work on an important activity that is due in the future. Soon you will find the time to analyse and polish your projects many times before they come due.

Problem:

There never seems to be enough time to contemplate your decisions

Solution:

Schedule quiet time to make important decisions. Listen to relaxing music that balances both brain hemispheres. If you do not schedule time for exercise, rest and entertainment, you will spin out of control.

Problem:

You are overwhelmed.

Solution:

Learn to say, No! to activities and individuals that do not contribute to the attainment of your goals. Often, people take advantage of your kindness and generosity without ever realising you have better things to do with your time.

Problem:

Most people do not have a master plan.

Solution:

1. Create a master list of all personal, spiritual, physical, emotional and financial goals for 1 year.

2. Assign priorities for each.

3. Predict a date for completion.

4. Write everything in pencil so you can change it.

Problem:

Few people use an organiser or daytime planner to coordinate their activities.

Solution:

1. Transfer the things on your master list to the correct dates in your organiser.

2. Check off apiece item as it is completed.

3. At the end of apiece day, reschedule the things that were not completed.

4. If an item is rescheduled twice, you are procrastinating.

5. Ask yourself, What if I never do this?

6. If the answer is, No big deal! Delete it.

Problem:

Some people suffer from perfection paralysis.

Solution:

1. Make the decision that you are not perfect and never will be. Everything you do will be imperfect in some way.

2. Realise that if it is worth doing, its worth doing wrong until you get it right.

3. Stop judging yourself according to your accomplishments.

4. Learn to trust yourself by developing intuition and following your hunches. You will find your first premonition is usually the correct one.

5. Discover just how right you are by making predictions and perceptive how a high percentage of them are correct. (Predict the line at the supermarket or bank that will move the fastest and take action accordingly.)

6. Make quick decisions in 20 seconds or less.

7. Make your decisions the correct ones by believing in your choices and acting with confidence.

8. In difficult situations, flip a coin, choose heads or tails and then notice how you feel about the outcome of the toss. Your response to the coin toss will help you make the right decision.

A last word..

Procrastination has to be learn; we are not born with the trait of procrastination. That's means if you suffer from procrastination, you can unlearn it. Use the tips above to learn new positive habits.

8 Effective Sales Closing Techniques

A contract is an exchange of promises between ...Image via Wikipedia If you are in the sales profession you will definitely find this post useful, I like to share 8 closing techniques with closing statements that will help you be more effective in your sales pitch.

1-2-3 close
The 1-2-3 Close works through the principle of triples, a curious pattern where three things given together act as a coherent set of three hammer-blows that give a compelling message.

Adjournment Close
In many sales situations the relationship is very important as the sales person will be going back to the customer with more sales to make. It is thus a bad idea to push them into a decision when they are not ready and may later be unhappy about this.

Affordable Close
The Affordable Close works by structuring the finance of the deal to fit into the other person's ability to pay.

Alternative Close
The Alternative Close is a variant on the broader-based Assumptive Close and works primarily through the assumption principle, where you act as if the customer has already decided to buy, and the only question left is which of a limited number of options they should choose.

Balance-sheet Close
The Balance-sheet Close works by building Trust through appearing to taking a balanced and fair approach. It guides the other person's thinking and hopefully saves them the trouble of weighing up the pros and the cons.

Companion Close
The Companion Close works because the companion to whom you are selling the idea does not have to make a financial or other commitment and so will be more ready to agree with you.

Conditional Close
The Conditional Close uses the Exchange principle to build a social agreement that if I solve your problem, you will buy the product in return.

Ownership Close
The Ownership Close uses the assumption principle, acting as if they already owned the product. This seeks to create mental closure on the principle of already

Closing Statements using the closing techniques

Affordable close

“You are only using 10% of your income to take care of 100% of the problem. Doesn’t that sound great to you?”

Just by putting an affordable amount of $X per day, you will be able to provide your child’s dream education.

Companion close

Should anything happen to your husband, you will be affected. Though we can’t assist you in emotional needs, we could assist in filling up the income gap.

1-2-3 close

“If you make the commitment to purchase the product today, you get the savings, the productivity and our committed service.”

By doing this, you get protection, savings and a peace of mind.

Ownership close

“Imagine what you can do with this product”

With this sum of money, do you think you will be able to give your child her dream education?

“Now what will you do with a million dollars?”

Alternative close

Would you prefer to save on a monthly or annual basis?

“Both plans meet your needs, would you like to start with plan A or plan B?”

Do you want to pay by installments or in full?

Conditional close

If I can work out your concerns, would you go ahead with this plan?

If I can provide you with a solution, will you consider making the decision today?

Balance sheet close

“Since I have helped to meet your concerns with your budget, can we go ahead with the plan?” (Conditional)

Adjournment close

I’ll like to give you a day or two to think this through.

7 Types of Dreams And What They Mean

Book cover of Book cover via Amazon I stumble upon this interesting article by Molly Mann and find it really interesting . Interpreting dreams have always been something I am very interesting in, as I believe there is always a message hidden in our dreams.

Dreams come to us in our most private moments: wrapped up in sheets, our public faces stored away for the night. The visions we see in sleep are supposed to be expressions of our individual psyches and imaginations, but most people’s dreams are based on themes that are very common. I thought my recurring dream of losing my teeth was scary and freakish until I went online to find thousands of others having the same dream, all trying to find out what the heck it could mean. Just because our dreams are shared, though, doesn’t mean they aren’t unique; the way we experience these common elements in dreaming life is what’s significant.

1. Being chased.
Candice Janco, author of the Bedside Dream Dictionary: 500 Dream Symbols and Their Meanings, describes this dream (the most common) as an indication of a felt threat in your waking life. This threat can take the form of a menacing person or a strong emotion with which you are having difficulty coping. Try to determine who or what is chasing you, where the dream takes place, and what your feelings are during the chase to understand what this dreams means to you.

2. Missing an important event because you are late.
This can indicate regret over a missed opportunity, inability to make a connection, or desire to pull oneself together. In Dream Power: How to Use Your Night Dreams to Change Your Life, Cynthia Richmond suggests asking questions of dreams in order to understand what this common symbol means to you. For example: What are you missing? Who is disappointed by the missed event? Is it only you or are there others involved?

3. Finding yourself at work or school naked.
Not surprisingly, Freud interpreted dreams about being naked as repressed sexual wishes. But the most important part of this dream is the feelings that are involved. You suddenly find yourself exposed, vulnerable, and awkward. What area of your life corresponds to that feeling? Figure this out by noting where you are, who notices you, what part of you is exposed, how people react to you, and how you yourself react to the situation.

4. Falling.

Falling indicates feelings of insecurity and lack of support. What situation have you “fallen into?” Who has “let you down?” Perhaps not surprisingly, this particular dream is most common among professional men and women. The Illustrated Dream Dictionary authors Russell Grant and Vicky Emptage note the close relationship between “falling” and “failing.” They also note that the dream’s meaning is probably not so clear-cut. Grant and Emptage ascribe dreams of falling to feelings of isolation, the sense of being without the support and affection that success cannot provide.

5. Flying.

Interestingly, Grant and Emptage interpret flying dreams as boasting about sexual powers. The important part of the dream is how you are flying; since the flying itself represents your ambitions, are you flying successfully, or trying and failing to fly as high as possible? From there, they make the leap to feelings of sexual inadequacy, but such feelings of low self-esteem could cover inadequacy of any kind, not just sexual.

6. Losing your teeth.
This theme has a number of potential meanings because of the very different significances teeth have to different people. Our teeth are representative of our appearance because our smiles are one of the first things people notice about us. Therefore, dreaming about losing your teeth can indicate insecurity about your appearance, or even fears of sexual impotence, as teeth are often used to flirt with a desired partner. We also use our teeth to bite, chew, and tear, so losing them can mean a loss of power or fear of getting old. Interestingly, this dream is most common among menopausal women, perhaps for all of the above reasons

7. Snakes.
Snakes have been a fear in dreams for quite some time. The ancient Egyptians used to make snakes out of clay and place them at the doors of their homes to frighten away nightmares, believing that snakes were bringers of bad dreams and that the clay snake would keep real ones away. Dreammoods, an online encyclopedia of dream meanings, reports that snakes signify some hidden threat. This makes sense, as most of us fear the “snake in the grass.” Like most other symbols, though, this one has many meanings that depend on context. Snakes shed their skin, so they may signify renewal and transformation. This may be a frightening experience, as most people are uncomfortable with change, or it may be very positive.

In all of our dreams, the true meanings emerge when we decide what they really mean to us. Though these dream symbols are shared among many, and we can determine general explanations for them, it is the context in which we place them that is significant. Read all you can about dream meanings to find information that may be relevant to you, but also ask questions about your dreams and how these symbols make you feel. Once you dig a little deeper, you may find answers and clarity.

Good, Fast and Cheap Service

WASHINGTON - DECEMBER 31: (AFP OUT) (L-R) Wil...Image by Getty Images via DaylifeMany times when you ask this question to someone who is shopping for a service like automobile repair, plumbing, renovation services etc. They will definitely want it to be Good, Fast and Cheap.

However you will never find a service that will be Good, Fast and Cheap. But you can only choose any of the two, but not all three.

What am I trying to say? Try to think like this.

1) Good and Fast services won't be Cheap
2) Fast and Cheap services won't be Good
3) Good and Cheap services won't be Fast

Does this make senses? So in future when you are shopping for a service, have this mentality than you will be not be disappointed, when things don't turn out to be what you expect.

Bill Gates Retiring

Bill & Melinda Gates FoundationImage via WikipediaBill Gates is spending his last day at Microsoft Friday before turning his attention full time to philanthropy after decades building the US software colossus.

The Microsoft co-founder, 52, known for his boyish face and nerdy manner, will now focus on running the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation , aimed at fighting disease, reducing poverty, and improve education around the world.

Paul Allen, who teamed up with Gates to start Microsoft in a garage in 1975, will be among those "roasting" his childhood friend at a gala retirement dinner late Friday.

Gates began programming computers when he was 13 and a student living in the northwestern US state of Washington.

"Very early he demonstrated this really insatiable curiosity," Gates's father, William Gates Sr., said of his son in a video interview at the Microsoft website.

"He became a voracious reader. We knew he was smart, he was academically gifted, but we didn't have any impression there was something world class going on in our living room necessarily."

Gates and Allen were at the head of a small group of students that enjoyed working with the school's computer, sometimes sneaking through a window to get to the machine after hours, said former teacher Bill Dougall.

School officials tapped into his programming prowess, swapping computer time for his services.

One tale is that Gates tinkered with school computer programming to put himself in classes made up mostly of girls.

Gates took his passion for knowledge to Harvard University in 1973.

"Bill was intense in college," former college classmate Andy Braiterman said, listing academic subjects to which Gates was devoted.

"He was also very intense about pinball, Pong, Breakout (two early computer games) and most of all he was very intense about poker."

At Harvard Gates met Steve Ballmer, who became part of Microsoft and was promoted to chief executive in 2000.

Gates recalls being in Harvard Square when Allen showed him a magazine cover story about a computer advancement, and thinking "This is happening without us and we are going to miss it."

Gates, with the blessing of his lawyer father and teacher mom, left college after two years to start "Micro-soft" with Allen.

The duo bought the rights to existing computer software, modified it, got a copyright, and rechristened it Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS).

A key move by Gates was to focus on licensing software to computer makers in numerous "partnerships" that resulted in affordable machines being available to the masses.

In the early years at Microsoft, Gates reviewed every line of computer code and earned a reputation for not tolerating slow thinking.

Gates challenged developers with comments such as "I could write that over the weekend," according to original Microsoft employee Steve Wood.

"He kept people on their toes," Wood recalled. "We accomplished things that we otherwise never would have figured out we could have done."

Microsoft's slogan was "A computer on every desk and in every home" -- using, of course, its software.

"In the mid-1980s that was still a kind of crazy thing," said former Microsoft chief technology officer Nathan Myhrvold.

"It went in a very short time from 'It's insane that everyone would have a computer to 'My God, of course everyone needs to have a computer."

Today more than 90 percent of the world's computers run on Microsoft software.

Gates eases into retirement ranked the third richest person in the world, behind US investor Warren Buffet and Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim.

Gates and his wife, Melinda, live in an earth-friendly "smart home" on a swath of hillside overlooking a lake near Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The couple married in Hawaii in 1994 and has three children.

While seemingly aloof, Gates has a humorous side.

There are photos of him prancing in a superhero costume at a company party, and he made a comic "Bill's Last Day at Work" video that has gotten thousands of views on YouTube.

After leaving Microsoft, Bill Gates will remain its largest single shareholder and chairman of company's board of directors.

12 Golden Tips For Better Fuel Efficiency

A fuel efficiency meter. (ex. At present, this car needs a liter gas to run 18.1 kilometers.Image via WikipediaRising crude oil prices has cause many drivers to feel the strain on our wallets. In order to fully maximise the fuel consumption of your vehicles, we can no longer stay to our old driving habits like being heavy footed or ferrying unnecessary loads etc. which may not be so fuel economical. I have list 12 proven useful tips that will help you get more mileage out of your vehicle.

1. Drive smoothly: Avoid heavy acceleration or braking. Speeding, rapid acceleration and braking can lower your gasoline mileage by 5 percent at lower speeds around town and by 33 percent at highway speeds.

2. Replace dirty or clogged air filters: Replacing a dirty or clogged air filter with a clean one can improve gasoline mileage by as much as 10 percent. A car’s air filter can protect the engine from impurities.

3. Keep your engine well-tuned and repair any problems immediately: If your car has failed an emissions test or is noticeably out of tune, repairing the problem could improve your gasoline mileage by 4 percent on average.

4. Make sure tires are not over or under-inflated: Proper air pressure cuts down on fuel used while driving. Keeping tires at the correct pressure can improve your gasoline mileage by more than 3 percent.

5. Minimize vehicle drag: Keep your trunk and back seat clear of unnecessary items that only add weight. Removing excess weight can improve your gasoline mileage.

6. Use the recommended grade of oil in your engine: Following your manufacturer’s motor oil recommendation can improve gasoline mileage by up to 2 percent. Look for motor oil that says “Energy Conserving” on the API performance symbol to ensure it contains friction-reducing additives.

7. Choose a high-quality gasoline: Top automakers say that carbon deposits can build up on critical engine parts, which can decrease the power, performance and fuel efficiency of your vehicle. Audi, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, and Volkswagen recommend using TOP TIER Detergent Gasolines to help keep engines clean. Use TOP TIER standards and stop gunky build-up on critical engine parts to help cars perform at their best.

8. Use cruise control on major roads and in free-flowing traffic: Maintaining a constant speed can improve gasoline mileage.

9. Avoid idling: When you idle, you get zero miles per gallon.

10. Avoid higher speeds: Gasoline mileage usually decreases when driving at speeds over 60 miles per hour.

11. Plan your outings to avoid separate trips: Combine your errands into one outing to avoid short separate trips. This helps avoid unnecessary cold starts and keeps your car’s engine running warm and more efficiently.

12. Paying with a rebate credit card: Credit cards offer a simple way to pay for things quickly, but using a rebate credit card means earning rewards with every purchase. Most gasoline companies tie up with credit card companies to offer customers loyalty rewards, therefore find out which credit card gives the best rewards on your preferred gasoline station and register with them to get the best deal out of it.
